The very beginning

With the Covid-19 pandemic still on-going, SLEC continues to deliver a full range of integrated services and programmes for their elders including maintenance daycare, day rehabilitation programmes and services designed to benefit elders who have suffered physical disabilities, as well as the frail and lonely who have no one to look after them during working hours. They are relying on donations to continue to provide services to their elders.

Sunflower Preschool @ Balestier has since embarked on the Start Small, Dream Big, a project that was launched in 2015 as part of SG50 and the President’s Challenge 15th anniversary, to promote character building by instilling the spirit of giving and values, such as care for others, humility, kindness and compassion.

During this difficult period, we hope that our children will show compassion and love to the elders, through small but meaningful gestures.

When we first introduced our SSDB project to the students, everyone, from 2 months to 6 years old all seemed so excited! We can’t wait to begin our journey!
