Singapore: Our Country, Our Home

As part of our 2025 Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) Project at Little Atlas Preschool, we have embraced the theme “Singapore Through Time: Learning, Growing, Dreaming.” This project provides children with opportunities to learn more about Singapore’s history and reflect on how they can contribute to building a stronger nation.

By learning about Singapore’s journey—from a small trading post to a modern, thriving city-state—children gain a deeper understanding of the nation’s development. Exploring Singapore’s past and present helps them appreciate the country’s rich cultural diversity and discover how different communities have contributed to its growth.

Through this exploration of Singapore’s past, present, and future, children are encouraged to understand not only the nation’s cultural heritage but also its potential. This knowledge nurtures informed, engaged, and responsible citizens.

As part of the project, we aim to highlight the positive aspects of Singapore’s history, culture, and achievements. Understanding the significance of the national flag also fosters patriotism and national pride.

By cultivating national pride, children develop a strong sense of belonging, civic responsibility, and community involvement. This, in turn, empowers them to take ownership of their actions and actively contribute to Singapore’s continued growth and development.
