Stories Across Generations: A Meaningful Visit to the National Museum of Singapore

As part of our ongoing collaboration with Allkin, the children and elderly embarked on a special outing to the National Museum of Singapore. Together, they explored the various exhibitions and discovered the stories that shaped our nation’s past.

The highlight of the visit was the “Once Upon a Tide” exhibition, which beautifully connected the generations. As the elderly shared their memories and experiences, the children listened attentively, filled with curiosity and wonder. These heartfelt conversations created touching moments of learning and laughter, bridging the past and present in a way that books alone could never achieve.

As we come to a close on this year’s Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) journey, we reflect on how these meaningful intergenerational activities have deepened our children’s understanding of respect, empathy, and care. Through continuous interactions with the elderly — from creative art sessions to shared outings — the children have learned to communicate with warmth, show patience, and appreciate the wisdom of older generations.

These experiences have not only strengthened the bond between our young learners and senior citizens but also nurtured compassionate hearts that value connection and kindness — the very essence of our SSDB theme this year.

🌟 A heartfelt thank you to our community partner, Allkin, for walking this journey with us and creating such valuable opportunities for our children to learn, love, and grow together across generations.
