Pioneer 987D: Collaboration with SPCA

For over three years, we have enjoyed a fruitful collaboration with the SPCA, enhancing our students’ understanding of animal care and community responsibility. This year, we invited Ms. Diba from the SPCA to give a captivating virtual talk on how to care for pets and ways to support the organization. Ms. Diba engaged the children with stories and practical tips, sparking their curiosity and eagerness to learn more about animals.

Following her talk, Siyu Laoshi organized a delightful mini pet showcase, inviting parents and teachers to bring their pets to the class. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as children gathered around to meet a variety of animals, from playful puppies to fluffy cats. The children enthusiastically asked questions about the pets, learning about their behaviors, needs, and the responsibilities of pet ownership.

To deepen their involvement, the children participated in a donation project, collecting essential items for the SPCA. With the support of their parents, they gathered pet food, litter boxes, toys, and even pet cages. The children took great care in packing these donations into three large recycled bags, fostering a sense of teamwork and community spirit.

Finally, the teachers visited the SPCA to deliver the packed donations, experiencing firsthand the joy of giving back. This hands-on project not only reinforced their understanding of kindness but also strengthened their connection to the community and the important role of animal welfare.
