We recently had the pleasure of inviting guest speakers from NParks to our school to discuss the common wildlife found in our neighborhoods. The session was engaging and informative, introducing the children to fascinating creatures such as Long-tailed Macaques, Monitor Lizards, Snakes, and Bats. The speakers shared intriguing facts about these animals, highlighting their behaviors, habitats, and the importance of respecting their space in our environment.
The children were captivated by the talk and eager to express their gratitude to the guest speakers. They created a unique token of appreciation: a wildlife animals table mirror, decorated with drawings and designs representing the wildlife they had learned about. This thoughtful gift showcased their creativity and understanding of the subject.
As a follow-up to the talk, the children collaborated to make informative posters that educated the public on how to safely react when encountering wildlife in the neighborhood. They included practical tips, such as keeping a safe distance and not feeding the animals, to promote responsible interactions. Additionally, the children featured the NParks hotline on their noticeboard to encourage the community to report wildlife sightings or seek assistance when needed.
This initiative not only reinforced the children’s learning about local wildlife but also empowered them to become advocates for wildlife conservation within their community. Through their creative expressions and educational outreach, they are fostering a greater awareness of the diverse wildlife that coexists with us.
