Recently, the K1 and K2 children attended an engaging talk by NParks titled “Marvellous Trees.” The session introduced them to the various types of trees found across Singapore, including those in the Botanic Gardens.
The children learned to identify different tree shapes—mainly umbrella-shaped, concave, and weeping forms. They were especially excited to discover many unique trees they had never seen before. During the session, they also explored fruit-bearing trees and were fascinated by unusual fruits like the rambutan.
In addition to learning about trees, the children were introduced to the concept of the 4Rs: Refuse, Reuse, Recycle, and Reduce. Inspired by the talk, they look forward to applying these eco-friendly practices in their daily lives through various fun and meaningful activities.
