For this year’s SSDB project, our centre choose the theme ‘Caring for Nature & Environment’ in collaboration with Gardens By The Bay.
To kick start our project, the children were actively involved in the preparation for our Launch party. The Preschoolers (N2 - K2) and Early years (PG - N1) children displayed their creativity in creating and designing our SSDB Banners to be used as a display at our SSDB corner which the PS and EY teachers had set up in different bays.
During our Launch Party on 4th of April, we invited the parents to participate in our ‘Signed to be Kind’ pledge activity. The parents and children enjoyed signing the pledge card and hanged their pledge cards in our ‘Kindness Trees’.
We proceed our Launch Party with photo taking, mass singing and dancing during our morning assembly and followed by our ‘SSDB March for Nature & Environment’ in the neighbourhood and used our SSDB Banners and wore our SSDB orange hats. Curious spectators asked the children what are we celebrating, to which the children excitedly responded and shared about our SSDB project.
From the month of April to September, the children were engaged in a variety of exciting interactive activities about Biodiversity & Sustainability through arts and crafts, storytelling, dramatising and outdoor learning.
