As we conclude this year’s 2025 Start Small Dream Big Project, our centre, SDM CCK, embarked on a meaningful adventure to care for our environment by participating in a beach clean-up to help conserve marine biodiversity. We gathered our Nursery to Kindergarten 2 children for a real beach-cleaning experience at Sembawang Beach.
To support their learning, the teachers prepared station activities where the children engaged in hands-on tasks—picking up litter and sorting them into appropriate categories. After completing the station activities, the children worked together to keep the coastline clean. They picked up various types of trash, including plastic bottles, glass bottles, cans, and other plastic waste.
This hands-on experience allowed the children to better understand the importance of protecting the environment and recognise the impact of human actions on marine life. It was a valuable opportunity for them to learn how small actions can make a big difference.
