Singapore is facing a growing waste crisis, with Semakau Landfill expected to reach capacity by 2035. As a small nation, land is scarce, yet over 6 million tonnes of waste are generated each year—much of it from food and packaging. Despite national efforts to promote recycling and reduce waste, overconsumption and a throwaway culture remain widespread.
At the preschool level, children are in a critical stage of forming values and habits. “No Space for Waste” seeks to make sustainability relatable and actionable for young learners through hands-on, age-appropriate activities. By involving families and the wider community, we aim to instill the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle early in life.
Aligned with the Singapore Green Plan 2030, this project encourages shared responsibility and sustainable living, starting with our youngest citizens.
