After weeks of care and observation, the children were finally ready to enjoy the fruits of their hydroponics journey!
On 4th September 2025, it was time to harvest the kangkong. The children helped to gather the fresh leaves. They then wrapped the kangkong in newspaper, ready to bring home and share with their families. This special moment was also a way to promote healthy eating at home, encouraging families to cook and enjoy the vegetables grown by the children themselves.
The children not only harvested the vegetables for themselves but also shared some of the kangkong with our school support staff, spreading the goodness with them and said, ‘This is for you! Stay healthy!’.
Two weeks later, on 18th September 2025, it was the Xiao Bai Cai’s turn to be harvested. The children carefully collected the vegetables, feeling proud of how much they had grown.
Harvesting Day was not just about taking home vegetables – it was about celebrating teamwork, responsibility, and the joy of eating healthy food that the children had grown with their own hands.
