The K1 children of MOE Kindergarten @ Kranji has embarked on the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) project in the month of June. This year, our project is entitled “Gearing towards Zero Waste”. To kick start the project, we engaged in a discussion about the term “ waste”. We brainstormed about the different types of waste produced by human. Our responses include food, water, electricity, paper and plastic. We also shared about our thoughts and feelings when we encounter such waste.
From this discussion, we started to wonder about where all these waste end up. Subsequently, we followed Captain Green’s virtual adventure to Semakau landfill and conclusively agreed that we should all do our part to reduce waste. Otherwise, we will all run out of space for our rubbish very soon!
