Welcome to Lavender Cafe

To kick start our SSDB 2017 project, the Kindergarten 2 class decided they wanted to honour a group of people that helped to raise them: THEIR GRANDPARENTS! 😊

The children discussed and concluded that they wanted to make their grandprents feel loved and taken care of the same way their grandparents do for them on a daily basis. Thus the idea of the cafe was born.

As a class, they decided that they wanted to serve Afternoon Tea to their grandparents and so they came up with a menu of cakes and pastries.

After deciding what they wanted to serve, they wrote down their menu and started preparing their desserts.

The children came up with a variety of desserts and cakes to serve: Strawberry Cheesecake, Tuna Sandwiches, Orange Cake, and Banana Muffins.

After days of preparations, with help from everyone at school, we were ready to open our Lavender Cafe!

We were happy that a lot of our grandparents came and enjoyed an Afternoon Tea date with us.

It felt great to serve and eat with them that afternoon.

Before the day ended, we wanted to give a big “Thank you!” to all the teachers who had helped us make our event a success.

Special thanks went to Aunty Goh who is like a ”grandmother” to us as she keeps us well fed and takes care ofusShe also helped prepare her special Rojak to add on to our menu! ❤️

At the end of the day, we had a grand

time working with each other and our teachers. It felt great to show appreciation and care to our loving grandprents who do the same for us every single day. ❤️
