On 7 March 2025, the children from Star Learners @ Telok Kurau visited the MWS Senior Care Centre @ Eunos Polyclinic as part of the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) initiative. This visit was a meaningful opportunity for children, parents, and seniors to engage in activities that promote care, empathy, and intergenerational connections.
Upon arrival, the children greeted the seniors with bright smiles and warm hellos.
To kick off the session, the children led a morning exercise session with some songs, where they guided the seniors through simple movements. The interactive exercises encouraged laughter and bonding as the seniors enjoyed the company of the energetic young ones.
Following the exercises, as a heartfelt gesture, the children presented the seniors with handmade cards filled with messages of love and appreciation. These beautiful, personalized cards were created by children who couldn’t join the visit in person, ensuring that every senior felt remembered and cherished.
Lastly, the children prepared a special performance of dance, bringing joy and entertainment to the seniors.
Before departing, the children expressed their gratitude with a cheerful farewell, leaving behind smiles, laughter, and cherished moments.
Through this initiative, the children gained valuable life lessons on kindness, respect, and the importance of community connections.
This visit to MWS Senior Care Centre was not just an excursion but a heartfelt experience that instilled a deeper sense of empathy and social responsibility in our young learners. We look forward to more opportunities to continue fostering these meaningful intergenerational bonds in the future!
