National Day Celebration @ Muhammadiyah Health and Daycare Centre

In celebration of National Day, the K1 students from Kidz Meadow @ Eunos visited Muhammadiyah Health and Daycare Centre to commemorate Singapore’s 60th birthday.

On the morning of August 5th, we made our way to the centre, where we were warmly welcomed by cheerful smiles. We kicked off the day with a lively icebreaker—elders had to keep a beach ball in the air, and anyone who let it fall had to either sing or dance. Laughter and joy filled the room from the start.

Before the children began their activities, the elders delighted us with a heartfelt performance of a well-known National Day song. They brought out their musical instruments and played beautifully for both students and teachers.

Then it was time for the children to shine! With excitement, they led two National Day workout routines, with some elders even joining in on the fun.

Following that, four student representatives took turns reciting a poem about Singapore in English, Malay, and Chinese. The elders listened attentively and enthusiastically to the touching tribute.

In line with the National Day spirit, we then enjoyed a flower-making activity together. Using crepe paper, straws, and other craft materials, everyone worked on creating their own version of the ‘Vanda Miss Joaquim,’ Singapore’s national flower.

To wrap up the celebration, the K1 students put on a special dance performance to the song “Billi Billi,” which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
