As part of their preparation for the Start Small Dream Big project, the children embarked on a meaningful learning journey to understand the importance of recycling and how it contributes to caring for the environment. Through interactive discussions and hands-on activities, they explored how recycling works and why it is essential for reducing waste and conserving resources.
To deepen their learning, the children went on a walk around the neighborhood, where they observed and identified various types of recycling bins. This real-world exposure helped them recognize how recycling is practiced in the community and reinforced the purpose of sorting waste correctly.
Back at the centre, different recycling bins were set up to encourage participation from families. Parents were invited to donate clean recyclables, which the children eagerly sorted into the appropriate categories—paper, plastic, metal, and glass. This hands-on experience not only strengthened their understanding of recycling practices but also fostered a sense of responsibility and teamwork.
Through this project, the children developed greater environmental awareness and took their first steps toward becoming young eco-champions in their community.
