Back in April 2021, we had the launch party to kickstart our SSDB project this year. As our project aims to do our part for the environment while staying connected to other members of the community, we came up with a mascot to represent our team and our beliefs for the project. All our children were busy like little bees working hard on creating our mascot, Ryan the Caring Lion!
Our SSDB launch party was a success and unveils the product of our children’s hard work - Ryan the Caring Lion, who would join our four collection bins that would be placed outside the centre for members of the community to contribute various ‘old’ items. The collection bins were painted by the children as well, and would collect items such as old or unused clothes, plastic and paper containers, plastic bottles and paper products. These items would then be given a new lease of life through the children’s upcycling efforts.
