SSDB LAUNCH 2018 @ SHEFFIELD KIDSWORLD (WLDS)

Counting down to a launch party has never been this exciting for our group of children who have been extremely motivated the past few days. The children waited patiently, all dressed up in their hats for the party! Their motivation has stemmed from their teacher’s contagious enthusiasm in coming out with a theme that allows the children to not just participate in any project that has been recycled over and over again. But rather, to be part of a project that strongly emphasize on our children’s identity as a part of the community who should be able to give back to their community.

As the party unfolds, the children rejoiced when their teacher picked their idea of doing their part for the environment and transformed that idea into a concrete and tangible project of food waste management in Singapore. They spent time together and came out with ideas after ideas on what can they do to help reduce food waste at home, in school! Someone even jokingly suggested that “we can get worms to eat up our waste!”. But every idea is definitely worth trying in order to achieve what is worth having, and that indeed has opened up another can of worms (pun intended) and ideas for our children and teachers to pursue together!
