SSDB 2018 “Caring is for Everyone” - PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Sengkang Central Blk 270

This year’s theme for SSDB, “Caring for Others, Together” sparked the Caring Hearts and Ready Hands of our K1 and K2 children. We had our launching party and Neighbourhood last 5 April 2018 with the theme: “Super Heroes in Me”. During our launching party, the children learned about Start Small Dream Big and we empowered the children that they can make a difference in small ways that they do.

We read the book from Kindness Cubbies: Tomeo and the Snow Saber. We also did role play on ways we can help people in need of our help to show kindness and care to our neighbours.

During our neighbourhood walks, we looked for ways to show care and kindness to our Neighbourhood in Compassvale Link.

The children did a Take Home Project on Heart Cushion Making with their parents. After doing the project, the children brought them to school, placed the cushions nicely in a ziplock bag with an SSDB sticker. The children are so proud to show their Heart Cushion.

The children also did beautiful flower crafts in school to give to the elderly for our final SSDB walk.

Our K2 children warming the elderly’s heart with a simple kind gesture. Spreading love and joy on one sunny morning. Well done K2 children!

The K1 and K2 children performed the song “Gan En De Xin” which means ‘gratitude’ to our elderly gathering in Multi-Purpose Hall. Elderly were pleasantly surprised to interact with our friendly children.

Our school aunties also received heart cushion from the children. :-)

It was a very heartwarming and beautiful experience for the children. For sure, the elderly in our neighbourhood felt the care and kindness too. Everyone learnt that small acts of kindness and care can really make a big difference!
