In connection with our recent visit to Grace Lodge in 5th August 2025, held in celebration of National Day and as part of our SSDB project focusing on the abilities of the elderly with dementia, we are delighted to share some highlights of the activities.
Our children had meaningful opportunities to learn, share, and interact with the elderly residents. They told the story Big Bear, Small Bear and Dementia, which helped nurture empathy and compassion among the young. We have also attached a few videos, including a casual chit- chat session where the children engaged warmly with the elderly.
Through these moments, the children brought joy and love, touching the hearts of the residents. After singing and performing, the children collaborated with the elderly to decorate and colour the SG60 cushions, which they brought home as keepsakes. In addition, the children distributed fun packs to each elderly resident, who received them with much happiness. Our celebration and collaboration ended with a high note with “Here We Are”, the SG60 National Day theme song.
