Reaching out to the Residents!

Environmental walks, art jamming sessions and games are some of the activities we have conducted by Sungei Whampoa ever since our Centre officially adopted it in February early this year.

To inculcate a sense of responsibility, we have also reached out to members of the community. In our last event, the children combed the neighbouring market, hawker centre and shops to hand out pamphlets they had specially designed.

Today, our children hit the streets yet again! But this time, their target audience are the residents who live in blocks surrounding Sungei Whampoa!

Incorporating the children’s ideas of how to keep the canal clean, our teachers designed a pamphlet!

After months of working closely with keeping the canal clean, the children were naturals at pitching their ideas to the residents!

All smiles as we go knocking from door to door!

Meeting friendly residents along the way!

Indeed, we are never too young or too small to be the change we want to see in this world! Every little action counts!

Of course, none of this would be made possible if not for the support of our parent volunteers and adult helpers!

Even though our SSDB journey is coming to a close, here at Whampoa 85, we strive to continue to do our part in Keeping Our Sungei Whampoa Clean!
