PPIS CDC @ Jurong 2 - “Healthy Garden, Healthy Me”

Our centre planned to have our mini garden and we would like to contribute to the community. We started off by sharing our prior knowledge about vegetables with Tr Ruby.

Next, we listed down 5 vegetables namely broccoli, carrot, cauliflower, potato and tomato. We began voting for 2 vegetables of our favourite.

At the end of the voting session, we counted the number of votes. The most voted vegetables are tomato and broccoli.

Tr Salbiah guided us on the timeline of our project. We will began planting of the tomato seed on Friday, 30 April 2021. The growth of tomatoes will take 2 months (60 days). Hence, it will be fully harvested by end of June.

After researching about the growth time of the broccoli, we have decided to change to carrot as it will take too long to harvest the broccoli. We will be planting the carrots in Mid-May and it will be fully harvested between July to August.

We planned to have 2 donation drives to give back to the community. First donation drive will involve the Nursery, K1 and K2 parents. Second donation drive will involve the younger age group. We would love to have them to join in this significant project.

On 30 April 2021, we launched the start of the SSDB Project by planting the tomato seeds.

We hope to achieve the objectives of our project where would love to contribute back to the community and impart knowledge of giving and caring for the needy families.
