Zion Bishan Kindercare (ZBK) is into the eighth year of participation in the SSDB project. This year, our theme is “Stand Together”, a fitting theme to nurture values such as empathy, cooperation, and a sense of community within our children.
We have collaborated with our parents and our next-door neighbour, Bishan Home for the Intellectually Disabled, for this year’s SSDB project — a donation drive for Bishan Home. The children learn more of how some people may be different in special ways, but all of us are children of God, and the importance of extending help to those in need regardless of who they are.
Our lovely parents have generously donated essential items to the residents of Bishan Home. The children participated by shopping together with their parents, sorting these items, and wrapping them up into creative gift hampers to present to the residents of Bishan Home.
This project emphasizes on some of our centre’s most important Core Values. Additionally, it provides the opportunity for children, teachers, and parents to all collaborate together to help those in our community, in line with our SSDB theme.
