Our centre collaborated with S.E.A Aquarium in realising the importance of protecting our ocean. S.E.A Aquarium-A Healthy Ocean Starts With you. Our SSDB project emphasizing in Protecting Our Ocean , Protecting Our Future.
Through this project, the children were able to understand about marine threats that the marine life is facing now and the conservation issues .
- The Pre -Nursery and Nursery children had an opportunity to acquaint with the marine animals and their habitants by storytelling sessions,making crafts, sensorial ocean bottles as well as through share and tell session. They learnt the importance of making the right choices in their lives to make Singapore waters safer and better environment for marine animals. The children shared the importance of keeping the ocean clean.
- The Kindergarten 1 children and Kindergarten 2 children got to know the meaning of endangered and extinct animals. The children had an opportunity to draw their favourite sea animals and the importance to protect them. They also shared about interesting facts about the sea animals.
- The Kindergarten 2 did a diorama of the ocean for their Take Home Kit as part of parental involvement.
- The Kindergarten 2 did a poster drawing ‘Save the Sea Ocean Animals’ . They learnt that they should not throw trash on the beach. Plastic left in the ocean can end up in the ocean. The children were educate to make a right choice by using lesser plastic in their daily lives and keeping the ocean clean and healthy.
We wrapped up our SSDB 2021 by having an e- virtual storytelling session with the sea aquarist by S.E.A Aquarium on 24th June 2021. Through storytelling session, they learnt some valuable lessons .
‘EVERYONE CAN PLAY A PART IN MAKING THE RIGHT CHOICE IN THEIR DAILY LIVES. EVERY CHOICE CAN AFFECT MARINE ANIMALS IN DIFFERENT WAYS.’
