Jamiyah Kindergarten is proud to be part of the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) Presidential Challenge 2025, in collaboration with Gardens by the Bay’s flagship sustainability programme, Green Guardians. This meaningful partnership aims to nurture environmental awareness and a sense of responsibility among young children through hands-on and purposeful learning experiences.
Through this initiative, our children explored key objectives to appreciate plant and animal biodiversity by engaging in a colouring activity that helped them identify and learn about the animals that call Gardens by the Bay their home. They also identified actions that promote a more sustainable lifestyle by discussing everyday ways to protect the environment, such as conserving water. In addition, they practised sustainable habits by designing their own vertical gardens and learning how plants contribute to a greener environment.
As part of promoting sustainable practices, the children also extended their learning to demonstrate water conservation as an essential aspect of sustainability. They learned to rinse their mouths using a cup of water instead of leaving the tap running while brushing their teeth, a small yet impactful habit that reinforces the importance of conserving water resources.
Through this collaboration, Jamiyah Kindergarten continues to instil in our young learners the values of care, respect, and responsibility towards the environment, empowering them to make positive contributions to a sustainable future.
