Our SSDB journey began on 7 May with a meaningful intergenerational launch at Gardens by the Bay. Titled Heritage Hands, Together We Stand, the project brought together children from My First Skool @ AMK08 and the elderly from Allkin, highlighting the importance of bonding across generations to preserve our cultural identity.
As the children walked hand in hand with the elderly, a sense of calm, respect, and joy filled the air. This shared experience created space for quiet connection—where smiles, kind gestures, and simple conversations built bridges between generations. Surrounded by nature, the walk allowed both young and old to enjoy each other’s presence, forming bonds that go beyond words.
The walk engaged children in showing care and kindness while the elderly responded with warmth and encouragement. It was a moment where age didn’t matter—only the willingness to connect, support, and grow together. This experience reinforced the values of empathy, inclusiveness, and mutual respect that form the foundation of our SSDB project.
Heritage Hands, Together We Stand reminds us that learning and love flow both ways—from young to old, and old to young.
Stay tuned as we continue our journey of togetherness, heritage, and community in the months ahead!
