At PPIS Jurong Centre 2, we always provide meaningful learning opportunities and mind engaging experiences to develop the children’s fullest potential. Hence, it was no surprise when the Kindergarten 1 children decided to give out seeds to the elderlies in our neighbourhood. This is to limit them from going out during the COVID-19 pandemic. The children hoped that the elderlies could take up gardening as a hobby to pass time at home.
Firstly, Teacher Ruby invited the children to discuss about the types of plants that can bear fruits and vegetables. The children were full of knowledge! Then, they predicted which plant will grow the fastest.
The next day, Teacher Raudah brought the children to a small garden around the school. The children explored the garden with their 5 senses. We saw some blooming flowers, vegetables, spices and also a fruit tree!
Next, we will ask our parents to bring in seeds and supplies for us to begin gardening!
