Care for Others: Appreciating our Public Transport Service Staff

During the June holidays, every child in TOUCH Child Care completed a folding craft of a bus model. The craft was part of Kindness Day SG 2018 to appreciate our public transport service staff.

On 14 June, our K2 children from Hougang and Clementi visited Hougang Bus Interchange and Clementi Bus Interchange respectively, as representatives of both Centres to thank and give the complete bus crafts to the bus captains/staff.

At the bus interchange, our children were given a tour around the place and were introduced to what is in a day’s work for the bus captains. The newfound knowledge deepened the children’s sense of appreciation towards our public transport service staff and made their task of thanking and giving the bus crafts to the bus captains/staff even more meaningful.

“Thank you for serving us!” - bus captains pleasantly surprised and cheery upon receiving the bus crafts.

Our children were met with pleasantly surprised faces and wide smiles from the bus captains when they went to the staff resting area and the different bus berths.

Their responses were a huge encouragement to children, and definitely made the experience of appreciating the unsung heroes around us a memorable one.

Teachers and children from TCC Hougang (Left) and TCC Clementi (Right) were all smiles themselves after bringing a smile to our bus captains.
