As part of their SSDB project on “Embracing Inclusivity Beyond the Classroom,” the K2 children went on a fun and meaningful trip to the National Museum of Singapore. They visited an exhibition called “Once Upon a Tide,” where they learned how the Little Island made friends with people from all over the world.
At the Singapore River exhibition, the children were warmly welcomed and guided through displays showing how ships brought different people, goods, and ideas to Singapore. They learned that many people came from faraway places to live and work here, and how the Singapore River helped connect Singapore to the rest of the world.
The children also discovered how people from different backgrounds helped build Singapore into the country it is today. They learned the value of inclusivity—how people of all races, cultures, and countries can live and work together as one community.
When they returned to the centre, the children used postcards to write kind and thankful messages to migrant workers in Singapore. They later gave these postcards to workers they met around the neighbourhood.
