Understanding the Chinese cultures and meaning behind it. (SSDB2019)

Phase 3 : Chinese Culture

Teachers prepared powerpoint slides and videos to share about the Chinese cultures and celebrations. Different type of costumes, dishes and celebrations were introduced and one of the celebrations was Dragon Boat festival. In conjunction to this festival, consumption of ‘zongzi’ are part of the history too. ‘Zongzi’ is a traditional Chinese rice dish made of glutinous rice stuffed with different fillings and wrapped in bamboo leaves.

After listening to the history of Dragon boat festival, children got to experience a mini dragon boat race outdoor.

Go! Go! Go!

After the mini race, they got to try out making ‘Zongzi’.

Look at how curious and eager our students were!

On top of that, children got their hands on some chinese artwork such as making 3D dragon on sticks and paper plate, colouring of Zongzi and paper dumpling.
