The Heart of Generations project was a meaningful intergenerational engagement where selected N2 and K1 children visited SparkleCare to connect with the elderly community. The programme aimed to foster empathy, respect, and social bonds between generations through shared activities, creativity, and performances.
Upon arrival, the children were warmly welcomed and quickly joined the seniors in light, coordinated exercises. These gentle movements encouraged interaction, supported physical well-being, and created a lively, joyful atmosphere.
The children then performed a cheerful dance for the seniors, bringing smiles and laughter to the room. This performance served both as a heartfelt gesture of appreciation and also a way to brighten the seniors’ day.
In small groups, the children guided the seniors in decorating cards with colourful paper flowers. This hands-on activity encouraged cooperation, patience, and shared creativity, allowing the elderly to express themselves artistically with the children’s support.
The programme ended with a conclusion of each child presented a Care Pack to a senior. This act of giving reinforced the values of kindness and thoughtfulness.
