To mark the Racial Harmony Celebration, the children from our school had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Mediacorp Theatre to watch performances presented by Extra•Ordinary People. The event was a beautiful collaboration between mainstream children and students from Extra•Ordinary People, who came together to showcase their talents through a variety of traditional cultural performances.
The children were treated to lively and meaningful performances that represented the cultural diversity of Singapore, including Indian, Chinese, and Malay traditions. It was heartwarming to see how children of all abilities could work together and shine on stage, sending a strong message of unity and respect.
Through this experience, our children not only gained an appreciation for different cultures but also learned an important value, that everyone is unique, yet equal. Despite differences or challenges, people can come together, support one another, and celebrate as one community.
This learning journey also allowed the children to reflect on the importance of harmony, empathy, and acceptance in their everyday lives. It was truly a meaningful and enriching experience that will remain in their hearts.
