Start Small Dream Big Launch Party: Philanthropy Day!

PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Tampines West Blk 140-938 organised a meaningful Start Small Dream Big Launch Party: Philanthropy Day on 7 April 2017.

The objective of this event was to inspire children to believe that their actions, no matter how small can make a big difference in the place they live in.

We encouraged our children to give back to the society in their own creative little way by producing crafts using recyclable materials that were easily available to them. We inculcated in our children the sense of entrepreneurship as well as to help the less fortunate.

The centre’s Start Small Dream Big: Philanthropy Day launch was a huge success! The children were in high spirits as they performed their dance. Parents and residents attended and joined in the workouts and ice-breakers. Minister Masagos graced the event and unveiled the Start Small Dream Big Launch Party Philanthropy Day Plaque. He also took time to visit the children’s “Philanthropy Day” stalls to barter trade items that he had brought with him.

At the end of our Start Small Dream Big Launch Party: Philanthropy Day, we successfully collected numerous food items and toiletries from children, parents and residents in the community.

On 27 April 2017, the principal, teachers and the children delivered the donation to Muhammadiyah Welfare Home. The group was received warmly by the home’s staff and residents living in the home. After that, they went on a tour viewing the facilities and were informed about the home’s Programme and events. The children had a memorable and enriching learning experience.

Through this Start Small Dream Big Launch Party: Philanthropy Day initiative, we hope to nurture not just well-rounded children but children with good characters so that they will grow into successful, resilient, caring, kind and compassionate citizens of Singapore.
