Start Small Dream Big (Blk 46 Marine Parade DS)

28 March 2025, our centre had finally launched its SSDB with the theme “ Cherishing the Sea Animals”. The children were excited to listen to the teachers sharing about the SSDB project on understanding how their daily choices and little act of kindness can affect the marine community and to be inspired to practice sustainability and take action in protecting the marine environment. They were excited to share how different ways they can save the Sea Animals. Children did a jellyfish hand printing poster to pledge to save the sea animals.

The children read “Ocean Wonders with Swish” by S.E.A Aquarium E-resources and shared their thoughts on what problem sea animals are facing through journal.

The children shared:

  • “People throw garbage in the ocean and the animals eat it.”

• “Plastic bags hurt turtles because they think it’s jellyfish.”

• “Oil spills make the water dirty and animals can’t breathe.”

• “Fishermen catch too many fish and there’s not enough left.”

• “Big boats scare the animals.”

• “Coral reefs are dying and that’s their home.”

• “Sea animals get stuck in nets and can’t get out.”

Preschool heroes in action! Through imaginative role play, our little ocean protectors are learning how to care for sea animals and keep our oceans clean.

Making waves in the classroom! The children explored the importance of ocean care by becoming sea animal rescuers in their play.
