Before the launch of the SSDB project, children were encouraged to share about their families and explore ways they could express love to their family members and friends. Educators guided the discussion by asking thoughtful questions such as, “What does your mummy or daddy do with you that makes you happy?” To introduce the concept of love in a meaningful way, the class watched the music video “I Love My Family” by our chosen partner organisation, Families for Life.
Our centre officially launched the SSDB project on 13 June, titled “Giving Hearts.” The project aimed to inspire children to express love and appreciation for their family members in creative and meaningful ways. Each child received a coloured heart-shaped paper, and parents were invited to take part in the activity at home by helping their child write or draw how they would like to show love to their family. These heartfelt messages were then displayed on a cardboard as a pledge, proudly presented by our N1 students.
