Part 1: Project Launch/ Introduction
The Eco Heroes project aims to nurture a sense of environmental responsibility in young children by raising awareness about the importance of caring for our planet. Through engaging activities such as recycling, creating environmental messages, and participating in eco-friendly initiatives, children are encouraged to take positive action in their everyday lives.
In the first part of the project, children were introduced to current environmental issues and learned about the threats and consequences of human actions, such as littering and improper waste disposal.
As part of their learning, they took a walk around the neighbourhood to observe the amount of litter and to identify the different types of bins used for recycling and waste.
Through role-play activities, children explored the feelings and behaviours associated with clean and dirty parks, helping them understand the importance of keeping their surroundings tidy and respecting the environment.
