Title : we Care From Young

As there was delay for delivery of resource package, children from Nursery 2, Kindergarten 1 & 2 used recycle materials to decorate the centre for the Food/Fun Fair event.

Start Small Dream Big Project

On 13th April 2017, The Moral Childcare Centre (TMCC) with the strong support from the Parent’s Volunteer Group (PVG) organized a mini Charity Fun Fair for the Start Small Dream Big Project.

The staff of TMCC and the members of the PVG had a few meetings prior to the event. The PVG members worked very closely with the children, principal and staff of TMCC. Everyone from the centre were also involved and contributed to the success of the project. For example, all the children and teachers, used recycled materials like old newspapers, magazines and cereal boxes to decorate the centre.

Altogether there were 11 games stalls and food stalls. Each game stalls were manned by a child with their parent/grandparent from the PVG. In order for everyone to enjoy the mini Charity Fun Fair, all items were priced reasonably between $1 to $3. Tickets were sold at $10 each. The children and parents used the tickets to play games and to purchase food.

The whole event was a big success as we received more participants than expected. We had also received feedback from parents that their family members enjoyed the event very much. All the money collected from the event would be donated to Moral Welfare Home. The money was initially planned to be given to the Moral Welfare Home during a visit by the k1/K2 children followed by a dance performance. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the K2 children were not able to go for the trip. Instead a cheque would be given to Moral Welfare Home together with a CD of the K2 children performance.

In summary, everyone had a very positive experience from the event. TMCC may even consider to have such event annually as a family day to strengthen the bonds between family members, children and the teachers.
