All Saints home has been our Centre’s partner for intergeneration programmes for the past three years. This year, our centre, PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Nee Soon Central Blk 671 (DS) was given an opportunity again to meet them through our SSDB project. The N2, K1, and K2 children were ecstatic to see the elderly people and showcase what they have prepared for them.
To start of, our centre’s principal, Ms. Esther, gave her opening remarks and welcomed the elderly people to our programme. It was then followed by the children’s performances that made the elderly people happy.
Children’s performances took place right after the centre principal’s opening remarks. The children were very excited to showcase what they have prepared for all of them.
The K2 children started with their performance. They have prepared an Angklung item with the song ‘Rasa Sayang’. They indeed had fun while doing what they have prepared for them.
The K1 children followed after the K2. It was really evident that they were having fun in their performances. The groove they gave while dancing Chinese and English Songs were extraordinary!
Here comes the lovely N2 children. They also showcased how good they were in dancing! These children showed everybody that age is just a number. No matter how young we are, we can still make others smile.
Malay children have also prepared something to perform. Their props were very creative. Truly showed our project’s theme, ‘Art to Heart’.
Lastly, the K1 and K2 children did a Zumba dance to show the elderly people that they were also having fun in the programme. Way to go, children!
Interaction with the elderly people of the home capped off the programme. Children were very happy to say ‘Hi’ to them. Also, some children said ‘Thank You’ for accepting what they have done.

It was an indeed fun and memorable experience not just for the children, but for the elderly people as well. Our project is not just focused in making art works, but also includes a bit of a performance art. And this event, indeed showed our theme, ‘Art to Heart’.
