SSDB 2025: Paw Protectors at the Rainforest Wild Asia

The Sunshine Kids Tampines’ Paw Protectors recently embarked on a meaningful field trip to Rainforest Wild Asia. This hands-on learning experience introduced children to the wonders of rainforest ecosystems while encouraging care and responsibility.

The children took part in a rainforest walk, exploring the sights and sounds of the lush greenery and animals living there. To make the experience interactive, each child received a picture-based scavenger hunt list featuring animals to find in the rainforest.

The children enthusiastically explored the trail, carefully observing and checking off items on their list. Throughout the walk, key learning moments helped deepen the children’s understanding of the rainforest’s importance:

🌳 “Whose home is this?

Children were introduced to the idea that trees are more than just plants—they are homes for birds, monkeys and many more. By observing animals living in and around trees, the kids began to see the rainforest as a living community.

🪓 “What if it was gone?”

This question prompted a discussion about deforestation. Children learned that when trees are cut down, the animals that live in them lose their homes.

🛡️ “Let’s protect it!”

The experience ended with a powerful message- If we take care of the forest, we help animals have a safe home. The Paw Protectors left the rainforest inspired to share what they learned and to become young ambassadors of the rainforest.
