🌟 SSDB Food Donation Drive: A Heartwarming Success!
Our Start Small Dream Big Project was a huge success! 🎉 We received overwhelming support and positive responses from our families in contributing to the Food Donation Drive, carried out in collaboration with NTUC Health Senior Day Care (Marsiling).
One of the highlights of the event was the child-led activity stall, where our K2 children role-played as shopkeepers 🛒 and helpers. With enthusiasm and care, they supported the seniors in a fun “buying and selling” experience. Each elderly participant was given $15 in tokens, and our children listened attentively to their requests, helping them to “purchase” food items and stationery from the stall.
This meaningful interaction not only brought smiles to the seniors but also allowed our children to demonstrate important socio-emotional skills such as empathy, active listening, and cooperation. At the same time, the activity boosted their numeracy skills as they assisted in counting money and items.
Through this experience, both seniors and children enjoyed a beautiful moment of learning, connection, and joy, truly embodying the spirit of Start Small Dream Big: small hands making a big difference. 💕
