Say NO to Pollution! #BrightKidsCare (Part 2)

Part 1 of the SSDB Project: https://www.littlelives.com/community/startsmalldreambig/stories/6668

After picking up the litters around the school’s neighbourhood, the Nursery 2 children embarked on the second part of their SSDB project. In hope to make Singapore a ‘litter’ better (pun intended), the children painted and drew on various litter bins around the preschool.

Children drew and painted things / objects such as water bottle, plastic cups, heart-shapes, people and Earth. When asked for their reasons behind their drawings, some mentioned that these items are what people usually littered / what they have picked up during their part 1 SSDB session. As for the reasons behind drawing people and Earth, some explained that a clean place will instantly lift up one’s mood (Happy people, happy Singapore).

Through this SSDB project, children have learnt to appreciate our school aunties (cleaners) and other environment heroes more. Additionally, they have also gained awareness of their roles and responsibilities in keeping the environment clean while showing respect for the environment.

As the painted litter bins are placed near the school, they could always be reminded of this project and be proud of their art works, hence enhancing their perception of self and one’s capability.

Special thanks to Punggol Town Council for making this project a successful one.
