Say no, Say no, SAY NO TO PLASTIC! Launch Party

This year, MK@Bendemeer embarked on a journey of environmental sustainability by focusing on reducing and managing plastic waste for SSDB 2025.

Prior to the launch party, children went on a scavenger hunt to find for a plastic bottle with a hidden message. In it, they were told that someone needs their help and were given instructions to decorate a wristband made from recycled plastic.

During the launch party, we invited our school leaders to grace the event and the teachers put together a skit that highlighted the dangers of plastic overconsumption. Through the performance, children found out that they would need to help Earth against the plastic invasion.

For each SSDB experience, our children will be Eco Ninjas. In the upcoming weeks, they will learn the importance of managing the use of plastic items and the impact their actions can have on the world around them. With each SSDB learning activity, children will earn a token of accomplishment which will be pasted on their handmade wristbands, symbolising their efforts towards caring for the environment.

At the end of the launch party, with their SSDB hats and wristbands on proud display, our Eco Ninjas, announced their commitment to the cause by chanting “Say no, say no, SAY NO TO PLASTIC!”
