In the next few lessons, the children then explored the next Family Value of Care and Concern. In the next 3 lessons, the children were able to learn more about the meaning of Care and Concern through the story of Becky Bunny and the Great Outdoors. The children were also able to engage in singing and dancing to the, “ I Care for My Family” Song.
The children then created various artworks to show their understanding on showing care and concern throughout the various lessons. In the first craft, the children took part in a role play and brainstormed on how they can show care and concern to others in the scenario given to them. They then drew out the various ways. The K2’s took it a step further and wrote sentences on how they show care and concern to their families at home.
In the next craft, the K1 and K2 children created their own Caring Glove. The children let their creativity run wild and made the Caring Gloves with elements that reminded them of showing care and concern and its meaning to them.
For the final activity, the children created their own caring tree with coloured paper and a tree bark print out. The children worked together to decorate their trees and pen down how they have shown care and concern to others on the leaves of the tree. The children really enjoyed seeing how their ideas and working together brought their Caring Tree to life.
