Newton Kindergarten is proud to continue its Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) initiative, a meaningful project by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) that empowers children to give back to the community. This year’s theme, “Together for Tomorrow, Empowering Young Hearts”, encourages young learners to show kindness and generosity to those in need.
For the second consecutive year, our Nursery classes are partnering with Lions Home for the Elders at Bishan to spread love and care to the elderly. This initiative is driven by our teachers’ dedication to instill values of compassion and empathy in children, guiding them through meaningful discussions and hands-on experiences that help them understand the joy of giving.
With the support of their parents, the children prepared goodie bags filled with grocery items and personally delivered them to the residents. This shared experience allowed families to engage in discussions about kindness and social responsibility, reinforcing the belief that while no one could do everything, everyone could do something.
Through this collective effort—where teachers inspired, parents supported, and children took action—we nurtured young hearts to become kind-hearted and community-minded individuals, empowering them to make a difference, one step at a time.
