Moments with my grandparents

As part of our Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) project with the theme Intergenerational connections, the children participated in a meaningful parental involvement activity. Together with their families at home, they created a poster showcasing activities they enjoy doing with their grandparents. This activity encouraged children to reflect on the special relationship they share with the older generation, whether it is gardening, baking, reading stories, or simply spending time together. Through drawings, photos, and creative decorations, each poster beautifully represented these treasured intergenerational moments.

When the children returned to school, they proudly presented their posters during a show-and-tell session. With confidence, they shared with their classmates why these activities are meaningful to them and expressed the joy of spending time with their grandparents. Their peers listened attentively and were inspired by the variety of ways they could connect with grandparents and elderly family members.

This activity not only strengthened the children’s communication and presentation skills but also deepened their understanding of the importance of showing love, appreciation, and respect to the elderly. It was heartwarming to witness the pride in their voices as they spoke about their grandparents and celebrated these special relationships.

This meaningful experience marks a wonderful step forward in our SSDB journey, reinforcing our theme of building strong intergenerational bonds, one small action at a time.
