Making a Healthy Fruit Salad for Our Families

On Friday, 27th June 2025, the N2 children at Skool4Kidz @ Woodlands Crescent Meadows participated in a hands-on activity where they learned to prepare a healthy fruit salad as part of our ongoing SSDB 2025 journey. This activity aimed to help children understand the importance of healthy eating and how they can contribute to their family’s well-being through simple, nutritious meals.

During the session, the children were introduced to a colourful variety of fruits including grapes, kiwi, orange, apple, longan, blueberries, mangoes, and strawberries. They discussed how fruits provide essential nutrients and help keep our bodies strong and healthy.

Working in small groups, the children helped to cut soft fruits, scoop, and mix the ingredients. To top it off, they added a ‘Healthier Choice Symbol’ yogurt, learning that it’s a better and more nutritious option compared to sweetened alternatives.

Throughout the process, teachers encouraged the children to explore the textures, colours, and names of the fruits while developing their eye-hand coordination, teamwork, and awareness of healthy food habits.

After enjoying their fruit salad, the children gathered to reflect on the experience. They eagerly shared which fruits they liked best and talked about how they could help prepare healthy snacks at home with their families.

This meaningful activity allowed the children to apply what they’ve learned about healthy eating in a fun and engaging way — reinforcing the message that even small actions can help their families make better food choices, in line with our SSDB 2025 project goals.
