This year, we hope to give back to the community by doing something different. To help them become more safety-aware, we partnered with Singapore Heart Foundation and St. John Singapore to introduce our preschoolers to basic first aid skills, learning how they can provide simple, age-appropriate support and help others.
Launch party
To kick off the partnership, the Singapore Heart foundation visited our centre to share on the topic of CPR. Our children learned the steps to call for help. They had the opportunity to try out the CPR cube, role playing on providing CPR to someone in need.
Fun fact: Do you know the song “Baby Shark” helps us in maintaining the chest compressions rhythm during CPR?
Activities with St. John Singapore
Over the spend of a few sessions, the children were introduced to 3 different topics and had hands on activity to help them better understand.
-

First Aid Kit
 -

Bruises and Cuts
 -

Burns and heat

Closure
With the completion of the sessions, the children earn a title of “Little Lifesavers” where they were presented with a certificate and a little badger by the Senior Chief Commissioner of St. John Singapore.
