PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Clementi Blk 330, Blk 462A and Blk 420A has combined effort as a branch in Start Small Dream Big Project this year to create awareness to our children and parents of the under-privileged families in our community. It also served as a platform to reach out to the community and to inculcate values of empathy towards the needy.
We gave our K2 children a take home kit task to do with their parents during the June Holidays. With parents’ support, children were encouraged to assist their parents in household chores such as setting up and cleaning the table during meal time, washing the dishes, sweeping the floor, watering the plants, folding the clothes and etc.
For each good deed, parents awarded their child points which were converted to cash amount. After which they purchased grocery items for a hamper. The hampers were presented to the children from Children’s Wishing Well (CWW).
On 27 Jul 2018, we visited Children’s Wishing Well. The children from PCF and CWW performed a mass dance, a song and ukulele performance respectively. Dr Tan Wu Meng, advisor for Jurong-Clementi GRC joined us in the presentation of hamper ceremony.
We believe that our children had a meaningful experience and hope they will grow up to be our future leaders with compassion, kindness and humility.
