Recently, our class had a fun role play activity—pretending to go on a picnic with friends. This simple game became a great way to teach friendship.
Before the picnic, we talked about what makes a good friend. The children said:
“A friend shares snacks.”
“A friend helps you.”
“Friends listen.”
They then packed pretend food, laid out mats, and invited each other to join the picnic. During play, they practiced sharing and taking turns, including everyone and using kind words like “please” and “thank you”.
Through this simple activity, the children learned what it means to be a kind and caring friend—all while having fun.
