Kind Words on My Tree – Caring for Our Siblings

On Tuesday, 24th June 2025, the K2 children at Skool4Kidz @ Woodlands Crescent Meadows took part in a meaningful art activity titled Kind Words on My Tree. As part of our SSDB 2025 project, this session encouraged the children to reflect on the ways they show love and kindness to their siblings through both actions and words.

Using recycled cups and cardboard, the children constructed and painted 3D tree trunks. They then reflected on kind and caring things they do for their siblings—such as helping at home, sharing toys, or playing together.

On coloured paper, they drew and cut out meaningful shapes and symbols to represent these thoughtful actions. These were then pasted onto the branches of their collaborative 3D Caring Trees, turning each piece of the artwork into a personal expression of sibling love.

The activity incorporated a range of art techniques including painting, colouring, cutting, and pasting—supporting the children’s fine motor development and giving them a creative outlet to express their emotions.

To conclude the session, the K2 children shared what they had created and explained the meaning behind their drawings. Many expressed how they felt when helping or playing with their siblings, showing growth in empathy, emotional expression, and personal reflection.

This engaging activity not only deepened their understanding of family relationships but also aligned with our SSDB 2025 values, promoting a sense of kindness, appreciation, and responsibility toward loved ones.
