The children had a memorable and meaningful SSDB (Start Small Dream Big) journey in 2025, as they participated in a variety of enriching activities alongside the Kidz Meadow Northwest cluster. This year’s SSDB theme was “Together for Tomorrow: Empowering Young Hearts,” with the tagline “Connecting Generations, Shaping Tomorrow.”
The journey began with a soft launch at Kidz Meadow Yew Tee, where the theme SG60 was introduced in celebration of Singapore’s 60th birthday. As part of the launch, the children collaborated with peers from the EIPIC school and their parents to create a symbolic artwork representing Singapore, using only recycled materials. Through this meaningful project, the children not only developed creativity and teamwork, but also learned the importance of recycling and environmental sustainability.
As the SSDB journey continued, the children engaged in a wide range of meaningful learning experiences. They visited the library to explore Singapore’s rich history and vibrant culture, deepening their understanding of the nation’s past and present. They also visited a nursing home, one of the community partnerships under Kidz Meadow Jurong West, where they connected with the elderly through warm interactions—fostering empathy and bridging generations.
Additionally, the children took part in a Sports Fest organized by Kidz Meadow Woodlands, which promoted teamwork, healthy living, and active participation. The journey culminated in the SSDB Finale: “Grateful Hearts Day – Care and Share Initiative,” a charity sale held in collaboration with the Singapore Red Cross and Kidz Meadow Yishun. This final event provided the children with an opportunity to give back to the community, reinforcing important values such as kindness, empathy, and social responsibility.
Throughout the SSDB journey, the children gained a deeper appreciation for Singapore’s heritage, embraced sustainable practices, built meaningful intergenerational connections, and experienced the joy of caring and sharing. It was truly a transformative and impactful journey that empowered their young hearts to dream big and make a difference for a better tomorrow.
